Meet the founder

Hi, I'm Sarah — and I've been exactly where you are

For years I dealt with unexplained headaches, skin flushing, heart palpitations after a glass of wine, and brain fog that no doctor could explain. After countless misdiagnoses, I finally discovered histamine intolerance — and everything clicked into place.

I spent the next eight years diving deep into the science: studying gut health, DAO enzyme function, the low-histamine diet, and the supplements that actually move the needle. In 2024 I launched HistaCalm to share everything I'd learned — clearly, honestly, without the overwhelm.

Every article on this site is based on peer-reviewed research. I'll always tell you what the evidence shows — and where it's still uncertain. No hype, no miracle cures.

My approach to histamine intolerance

I believe histamine intolerance is one of the most under-diagnosed and misunderstood conditions in modern medicine. The frustration of being dismissed, misdiagnosed, or handed a printout that doesn’t reflect the complexity of what you’re experiencing — I’ve been through all of it.

What I’ve learned over eight years of research and personal management is that there is no single answer. Histamine intolerance is almost always multi-factorial: gut permeability, DAO enzyme genetics, oestrogen dominance, microbiome imbalances, stress — often several things happening at once.

My goal with HistamineGuide is to give you the clearest, most honest picture of what the science actually shows — and where the gaps still are. I’ll never recommend a supplement I haven’t personally evaluated, and I’ll always tell you when the evidence is thin.
